A week after UFC 155, the NSAC released the results from the post fight drug tests.
After a slow start to the pay-per-view, UFC 155 delivered two of the most dramatic fights in recent memory. In the co-main event Lightweight Joe Lauzon poured blood out of his forehead for 13 minutes of his 3 round decision loss to Jim Miller. Then, to cap off the show, Junior Dos Santos gave up the Heavyweight title and his undefeated record after a one-sided beating from Cain Velasquez.
On Friday, Nevada State Athletic Commission director Keith Kizer alerted media that every fighter on the card passed their post-fight drug screenings. Counting The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale, this is the second consecutive UFC event where all the competitors in an event were tested. It's also the second event where every fighter passed.
I think we can all admit that a simple post-fight urinalysis falls dreadfully short as an effective means to police doping in MMA. However, it's still good to see the NSAC go above and beyond their legal obligation in testing.
