After a slow first round, Lamas blasted Koch with ground and pound to stop the former scheduled contender.

Featherweights Erik Koch and Ricardo Lamas got the main card of UFC On Fox 6 started. Koch was scheduled to fight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 153, but an injury forced him out and he was replaced by Frankie Edgar. It had been 16 months since Koch last fought where he won a decision over Jonathan Brookins in September 2011. Lamas was coming off a decision victory of his own over Hatsu Hioki at UFC On Fox 4.

Very slow start to the fight from the Featherweights. Both men stood at distance trying to land single shots from range with little success. Lamas tied up looking for the takedown but only managed to stall against the fence. After separating, Lamas tied up again and scored a takedown just before the end of round 1. The second round was a completely different story, however. Koch slipped and allowed Lamas to get into his guard. Lamas capitalized on the mistake and went for a brutal finish. He landed thundering punches and elbows from Koch's guard to bring on the stop from Big John.

Ricardo Lamas def. Erik Koch via TKO at (2:32) of round 2.
