T.J. Grant and Matt Wiman capped off the FX prelims of UFC On Fox 6 with their Lightweight bout. Grant came into the fight sporting a 3-fight win streak. Wiman had a 2-fight win streak of his own heading into the bout.

Grant and Wiman both decided to do a lot of trading in the pocket from the start out of the bout. After a couple minutes it became clear the Grant was landing the more solid combinations. One combo had Wiman hurt and Grant followed him down looking for the finish. Wiman managed to recover, but took a beating while he was down. Back on the feet and Grant started focusing on short elbows on the bloody-faced Wiman. Grant landed one right on Matt's jawline that dropped him. He followed up with ground and pound and got the stoppage with only seconds left in the fight. T.J. Grant defeated Matt Wiman via KO at (4:51) of Round 1
