Saturday night at UFC On FX 7, the "old lion" Vitor Belfort gave an impressive performance against would-be contender Michael Bisping. The fight started out slow as Belfort maintained distance in the early minutes as he calculated the timing needed to take out Bisping. The fight looked like it might end in the first when Belfort landed a left head kick that rocked Michael in the closing minute. Vitor tried to pressure with a flurry, but couldn't finish before the bell.
Then, in the second round, Belfort landed the head kick again. Bisping dropped to the mat and tried to turtle up. That wasn't enough to prevent referee Dan Miragliotta from stopping the action at 1:27 of the 2nd round though. Belfort earned an additional $50K with the Knockout of the Night bonus. He followed up his victory by calling out Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones for a rematch in his post-fight interview.
