For the third time Michael Bisping fell short of capturing his Middleweight title shot. At UFC On FX 7, Vitor Belfort put Bisping down in the second round with a left head kick. The win gave Belfort his first ever UFC victory to come outside the first round. In his post fight victory speech, Vitor called out both Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones and the "clown" he's facing next, Chael Sonnen.
It didn't take long for the former Middleweight contender and future Light Heavyweight contender to respond (via MMA Mania):
"Let me be real clear and speak direct with you Vitor: you've been telling the world that you'd like to meet Jesus. I'd be glad to arrange that travel. But, first, I'm going to get rid of Jon Jones. But, you are next. Let me be clear: Vitor, I accept. Don't make any mistake about that. You have called me out twice now, once after I signed a contract to fight Anderson Silva and once when you know I was busy with Jon Jones. I accept."
Before any of that happens, Sonnen will first have to fight Jon Jones, who's stood atop the 205 lb. division since taking the belt from Shogun Rua at UFC 128. The two TUF 17 coaches will face off in April at UFC 159. If Sonnen loses that bout, as most expect him to, a fight with Vitor seems possible as Belfort has already said that he doesn't plan to stay at Middleweight for much longer.
