Former UFC Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos was dealing with the collapse of his 10-year marriage heading into the fight Brazilian reporter Guilherme Cruz has revealed.
We posted a few days back that former UFC Heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos was struggling with both kidney troubles and "personal issues" heading into his UFC 155 bout with Cain Velasquez. Now we've got more at Tatame's Guilherme Cruz has tweeted that dos Santos' 10-year marriage is collapsing:
If you were wondering what JDS meant when said he has personal issues prior to Cain's rematch, he ended his 10-year marriage w/ Vilsana
— Guilherme Cruz (@guicruzzz) January 18, 2013
Dos Santos was beaten badly by Velasquez over the course of five brutal rounds at UFC 155, suffering his first UFC loss and losing his championship belt.
Anyone who has ever endured divorce knows that it is among the most disruptive things a person can endure. Randy Couture attributed his poor showing in his second and third bouts with Chuck Liddell to the divorce he was going through at the time.
Best wishes to Junior and Vilsana as they go through this difficult passage in their lives.
