Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE
The reigning and defending UFC lightweight champion opened as a betting favorite over the Strikeforce lightweight champion for their April 20th bout at UFC on Fox 7. Ben Henderson isn't a huge favorite over Gilbert Melendez, but it's not that close either. Check it out (via BestFightOdds):
Only two sites are offering the line right now, but that will change soon. I'd actually consider betting on Henderson here, and might do it all the way up to -240 or so. While Melendez is an excellent fighter, I think he's giving up a lot of size and doesn't really have much of an advantage anywhere in the bout other than technical boxing.
The other big fight announced for the card features Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier facing off with former UFC heavyweight champ Frank Mir, and that line isn't even close:
That is not a line that I'd be touching at all. Cormier's rightfully the big favorite, but Mir's just tricky enough that it's not a complete blowout. Still though, Mir's price would have to go way up before I'd consider betting on him.
