Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE
It appears that UFC on Fox 7 has a third main card fight, after the recent announcements of Ben Henderson vs. Gilbert Melendez and Daniel Cormier vs. Frank Mir. Bloody Elbow's Best Fighter of 2012, (!?) Matt Brown, will face off with British veteran Dan Hardy. The UFC recently tweeted confirmation of the bout:
Just when you thought @ufconfox 7 couldn't get any better, we've added Dan Hardy vs. Matt Brown - plus Bendo/Melendo & Cormier/Mir
— UFC (@ufc) January 16, 2013
Brown (15-11) has been campaigning for a fight against Hardy ever since he finished Mike Swick at UFC on Fox 5 last month. Hardy (25-10, 1 NC) said he wouldn't be ready for either of the international cards (UFC on Fuel 7 later this month in the UK, or UFC on Fuel 8 in Japan in March), but he will be ready by April 20th. So the two men will clash in San Jose instead.
Brown is on a four-fight winning streak, while Hardy has won two in a row. Both fighters have really turned it around lately after bad stretches in the octagon, and it should be an interesting style matchup.
