When I watch certain fighters, sometimes I can't help but think "Man, this guy can use some work here or he would be so much better if he could do this." Sure, they may be crowd pleasers, but they aren't doing themselves any favors by taking punishment .

With that being said, I'm curious as to which fighters are very well versed in defending themselves or not taking much damage if any at all. I'm relatively new to the sport and even though I consider myself a knowlegable fan, there are still some fighters that I am in the dark about and would like to be introduced to.

And this is why I turn to you, my fellow BE civilians. In your opinion which fighters (past or present) has the best all around defense in terms of MMA? I'm taking take down, striking and submission defense.
