Strikeforce Lightweight Jorge Gurgel claims that the winners at this Saturday's final Strikeforce event will be brought over to the UFC and losers will be unemployed.
Veteran Lightweight Jorge Gurgel says that he's been told that the winning fighters on this Saturday's final Strikeforce event will get called up to the UFC and losers will walk. Gurgel fights Adriano Martins at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine.
Here's what he told MMA Junkie:
"The winners go back to the UFC, and the losers get released, just like that.
"Come ready because I'm angry," Gurgel said to Martins. "You never fought in America before. I'm going to give you a nice welcome to the U.S.A., brother.
Gurgel has gone 2-3 with Strikeforce since 2009. Prior to that he went 3-4 in the UFC from 2006-2008. His overall record is 14-8. He's 35 years old.
