Today has been a good one in the MMA world, with two major middleweight fights being announced and the rumor strengthening about a potential Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier fight at 205. The best news of the day by far, has to be that Danny Miller Jr, the son of UFC WW Dan Miller, has undergone A SUCCESSFUL KIDNEY TRANSPLANT (and yes, that is totally worth yelling about).
The proud father celebrates after the surgery on Twitter:
Surgery went well today, never thought I'd be so happy to see some pee!

Miller had pulled out of his scheduled bout at UFC 152, but everyone was relieved to find the reason was that his son was finally going to get the kidney transplant he had needed his whole life. Danny Miller Jr suffers from polycystic kidney disease (PKD). The disorder causes the kidneys to develop numerous cysts, and will often enlarge the kidneys far beyond their normal size. PKD causes the kidneys to fail, leading to a lifetime of dialysis, or a oft necessary transplant.

MMA Weekly showed these comments from Kristen Miller's Facebook page.
'"In March of 2010, he lost all kidney function. Today, September 6, 2012, Danny is now peeing again! Words can’t describe the emotion that we are feeling right now," wrote his ecstatic mother, Kristen Miller, on Facebook on Thursday.
"He’s still in the OR (operating room) but will be headed to his PICU (pediatric intensive care unit) room shortly. His new kidney function will be monitored extremely closely.
"Kathy is recovering in her room. We love you so much Kathy and can never thank you enough. Xoxo Daniel James..we love you so much!"
The "Kathy" referred to here is Dan and Jim's aunt, who made the ultimate sacrifice of giving up a kidney so that her nephew's son could have a chance at life. With all the negativity in the sport following the cancellation of UFC 151, this is a great reason to smile at the good people do in the world.
UFC LW Jim Miller has this to say on Twitter about the transplant
The word is that everything has gone well with my nephew's transplant. Both Danny and my Aunt came out strong. TY everyone for the support
Pee! My 2 1/2 yr old nephew has kidney function for the first time in over 2 years. 1 hurdle cleared, many more ahead
On behalf of Bloody Elbow, I want to wish heartfelt congratulations to the Miller family, and I really hope that Danny will have the chance to live a long, normal, happy life.
