UFC 152: Jones Vs. Belfort - Live Results And Play-By-Play For Main Card

As with every major show, Bloody Elbow will be here to bring you live results, play by play and commentary for UFC 152: Jones vs. Belfort. Our live coverage will start with the prelim fights on Facebook (currently scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET) and continuing through the FX undercard broadcast (8 p.m. ET) through the main card on pay-per-view (10:00 p.m. ET) so make sure to make Bloody Elbow your home for this event.

This post will cover live results and thoughts for the main card on pay-per-view.

The main event of the evening sees Jon Jones defend his UFC light heavyweight championship against Vitor Belfort. The first ever UFC flyweight champion will be crowned when Demetrious Johnson takes on Joseph Benavidez. Brian Stann will face Michael Bisping in a fight with significant middleweight title ramifications. Matt Hamill returns to the UFC cage for the first time since his "retirement" to take on Roger Hollett. And opening the PPV will be Cub Swanson against Charles Oliveira.

Cub Swanson vs. Charles Oliveira - Round 1 - Oliveira sticking out the jab early, Swanson with a few decent leg kicks. Good left hand by Swanson and Oliveira ducks under and gets a takedown. Good elbow from on top by Oliveira. Swanson manages to sneak back to the feet. Knee by Oliveira and then he misses a takedown. Swanson with a right hand, Oliviera runs backward a few steps and then collapses to the ground. Now he's rolling around and this is over. Wow, that was strange. There was also a body shot that had to have played into it a bit as well. But still..that right hand to the head just cliped him hard. Cub Swanson wins by TKO (punch), round 1.

Matt Hamill vs. Roger Hollett - Round 1 - Hamill coming out quick, looking to land something. Hollett having no real success because of a reach disadvantage. Jab lands for Hamill, Hollett fires back but isn't close to hitting. Hamill having good success here as Hollett looks lost. Hamill taunting a little bit, which probably isn't the best idea as Hollett can't do anything when it's a "smart fight." Hamill with a takedown and now he's reigning down punches as Hollett just covers up. Hamill doing pretty much whatever he wants but is hitting the back of the head a lot. They do get to the feet and Hollett drills him to the body. 10-9 Hamill.

Round 2 - Hollett stuffs Hamill's first takedown attempt of the round. Hollett digs to the body. Hamill does get a takedown and not much happens, so they're back to the feet and...not much is happening again. This round...isn't very exciting. Hollett gets taken down again and the round ends. 10-9 Hamill.

Round 3 - Hollett with a good hook and Hamill with a jab. Hamill just working a jab ad Hollett misses with a right hand. Hamill with a quick double leg and he's back on top. Hollett is turtled up while Hamill punches him. Hamill still on top...this is a dreadful fight. Back to standing, Hollett lands a punch to the body, Hamill takes him back down. Back to the feet, and another takedown. Hamill grinds away to the final bell. At least it's over.

Official Scorecards: 29-28, 30-27, 30-27. Matt Hamill wins by unanimous decision.

Michael Bisping vs. Brian Stann - Round 1 - Stann moving forward as Bisping circles. Leg kick by Bisping. Bisping pushes Stann into the cage now. Stann is able to get off the cage though. Right hand by Bisping and he moves back before Stann can get off. Leg kick by Stann lands solidly. Leg kick by Bisping. Jab by Bisping. Right hand by Bisping and another jab. Bisping looking for a takedown and Stann defends well, keeping it on the feet. Good elbow by Bisping and Stann tries to flurry back but doesn't land. Bisping accidently lands a low blow and Stann says he's okay. Good right hand by Stann. They trade and Bisping lands 2 but Stann does get one in. Now Stann hits Bisping with a low blow. They trade jabs. Bispig with a jab, Stann with a leg kick. Body kick by Bisping. Body kick by Stann. Bisping with a jab and a takedown attempt that is stuffed. Stann lands a hard shot and Bisping was buzzed by that one. Bisping just landed more that round 10-9.

Round 2 - Jab by Bisping. Now a one-two that lands. Stann with a leg kick. Jabs by Bisping land. Now Bisping with a big double leg slam right into side control. Bisping with a right hand and Stann rolls him over and lands a big punch. Bisping has guard. Bisping trying to work toward a triangle but Stann defending well. Bisping gets up, lands some good shots now and they're saying that he may have taken a thumb to the eye. Bisping pushing him into the cage. Bisping with a left hand and then another jab. Good left hand by Bisping. Hard right by Bisping. Big takedown by Bisping again and he's in side control again. Bisping with a few good punches and elbows as the round ends. 10-9 Bisping.

Round 3 - They trade leg kicks right away. Bisping with a good takedown but Stann gets right back up. Right hand by Bisping. Good combo by Bisping and he's doing really well at getting in, punching and then back out. Right hand lands for Stann as does a leg kick. Bisping misses on a takedown. Good one-two by Bisping. Bisping can't get the takedown again. Bisping with another takedown now and that may seal the fight for him. Stann gets back up and Bisping is trying to take him down. Stann fires away to the finish. The two hug after the final horn. 10-9 Bisping for the sweep.

Official Scorecards: 29-28 across the board. Michael Bisping wins by unanimous decision.

Demetrious Johnson vs. Joseph Benavidez - Round 1 - Benavidez comes forward with a good punch and a leg kick. Benavidez doing a good job of keeping Johnson pushed into the cage now, turning it in to less of a run and chase fight. Johnson is now off the cage and using his movement. Right hand lands for Johnson now. Benavidez pushing him back into the cage again. Right hand by Benavidez. Benavidez rolls for a kneebar and Johnson lands a couple punches. 10-9 Johnson I guess, but neither guy did much.

Round 2 - They exchange on the inside. Benavidez now with a few good right hands and a leg kick. Benavidez with another right that lands. Jab by Johnson. Right hand by Benavidez and now he pushes him into the cage. Benavidez misses on a takedown. Good right by Benavidez and now Johnson stuffs a takedown and lands a knee. Johnson takes the back standing after Benavidez misses a punch and they separate again. Two more good punches for Benavidez. Another good flurry by Benavidez and now a good right hand. Benavidez took the round with some better striking. 10-9 Benavidez.

Round 3 - Johnson landing a few leg kicks. Benavidez with a few punches and he misses the head kick. RIght hand by Benavidez. Another right hand by Benavidez. Crowd staring to boo. Right hand by Benavidez lands. Benavidez briefly had the takedown but Johnson bounced back to his feet. Knee by Benavidez on the break. Right hand, left hook by Benavidez. Benavidez gets poked in the eye and the ref says he didn't see it so he doesn't give him a break. Johnson with a right hand. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 4 - Good Johnson right hand counter. Benavidez with a big punch and Johnson is hurt. Benavidez follows up and he's trying to finish a guillotine choke. Johnson fighting like hell as Benavidez has the mount and is trying to finish off this choke. He can't get it though and Johnson tries to attack the leg but can't get it. Johnson avoids another choke and ends up back on his feet. Johnson with a nice takedown but Benavidez gets back to his feet. Johnson with a very good takedown and he's into side control. Elbows to the body by Johnson. 10-9 Benevidez as he was close to finishing twice.

Round 5 - Johnson with a leg kick. This round decides the fight in my eyes. Body kick by Johnson. Benavidez with a right hand that misses, Johnson comes forward and gets a big double leg takedown. Benavidez stands up, Johnson slams him back down but Benavidez stands right back up. Johnson appears to be pulling away with the round here. Benavidez can't get the takedown. Right hand by Benavidez. The fight ends and I think Johnson took 3 of the 5 rounds for the win.

Official scorecards: 48-47 Johnson, 48-47 Benavidez, 49-46 Johnson. Demetrious Johnson wins by split decision to become the first ever UFC Flyweight Champion.

Jon Jones vs. Vitor Belfort - Round 1 - Jones comes out in his wierd sliding on all fours thing and Vitor tries to kick him in the head anyway. Jones ducks under for a takedown and he gets it. Vitor transitions to an armbar! It's deep! Jones struggles through it and gets his arm free. That was very, very deep and Jones' arm was fully extended. Vitot tries for another armbar and can't get it. Vitor is bleeding from some good elbows from Jones. My power briefly went out and when it came back it was the end of the round, so I have no clue what else really happened.

Round 2 - My power blinked off again, I apologize for the lack of details here. Our results post for the fight will have much more. 2:50 left in the round and Jones is stalking while Vitor bleeds. Front kick to the face by Jones and then a kick to the thigh. Jones tags him again. Vitor is trying to throw one right hand at a time, but nothing is happening. Now Vitor pulls guard. Vitor throws his legs up for a triangle but the round ends.

Round 3 - Head kick by Jones and then a kick to the thigh. More leg kicks from Jones. Vitor just misses a counter right hand. Kick to the body by Jones hurts him and now Vitor drops. Jones with an axe kick to the body and he follows him to the ground. Jones on top now just throwing short elbows. Vitor with a left hand. Vitor clinches him and pulls guard again. Jones throwing a few punches here and a few elbows there, but not a lot happening here. Jones just chipping away with elbows now. Another Jones round.

Round 4 - Vitor with a head kick and now he flurries with some uppercuts. Jones gets the takedown and Jones is on top and has an arm pinned, Jones locks in a kimura and that's that. Jon Jones wins by submission (kimura), round 4.
