Japanese submission extraordinaire Shinya Aoki grabbed two highlights here. First, he gave David "Hello Japan" Gardner a lesson in not having terrible ideas while defending a rear naked choke. I don't think Gardner took much from it, however, as he went 2-6 after losing to Aoki. Second, he taught Mizuto Hirota that if you don't tap to his hammerlock he will break your arm. Also, he doesn't care if your tapping arm is trapped during the submission.
