Are there any left-handed karate practitioners on this site? My much younger brother has taken up karate after practicing muay thai and boxing for two or three years. He goes a couple times a week, and apparently the instructor teaches everything right handed and right handed only. He is really struggling with this. The instructor states that this is just how karate is done. Is he right? I know Machida is a southpaw, but I'm not sure if that is how they teach traditionally. They are in a rather rural area, and even if the instructor is just a jackass, there aren't many other options. Thank you all in advance.
