After UFC 153 completely fell apart yesterday, everyone and their dog has been talked about to fill the gaping holes in the card. One of the most talked-about guys was Lyoto Machida, since he doesn't actually have a scheduled fight at the moment. Machida added to the speculation by tweeting something that has got some people buzzing:
Estamos preparando uma grande surpresa para vcs! twitter.com/lyotomachidafw…
— Lyoto Machida (@lyotomachidafw) September 12, 2012
Translation:
We are preparing a big surprise for you!
The guys in the picture are Wanderlei Silva, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mauricio Rua, and Lyoto himself. He also tweeted another pic of a few of them sitting around a few hours after that. Now this could have absolutely nothing to do with UFC 153. Heck, it might even be some sort of announcement about The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 2 or something. But it's a little bit odd that two of the other guys in the pic, Wanderlei and Big Nog, have both have made references to either UFC 153 or being able to fight in the last 24 hours. Check then out after the jump.
Silva tweeted the following last night:
UFC RIO???
— Wanderlei Silva (@wandfc) September 12, 2012
And Big Nog told Sherdog he's ready to go, even though he said that last time (he was supposed to fight Cheick Kongo in July at UFC 149):
"My recovery is 100 percent. My physical therapist, we worked a lot, sometimes six, seven hours a day. I tried getting better for July but I got hurt again. I think it was too soon. I broke my bone in December and I started to train again at the end of March. I think it was too soon. Now, it's totally recovered and I started to train again in mid-July. I feel my arm is getting stronger, getting faster. I feel all my skills are getting better and I'm ready to go. I'm training every day, doing my strength and conditioning, little by little and I hope to fight soon. I'm just waiting on confirmation from the UFC."
What does all this mean? Who the heck knows. But it's fun to speculate! Machida vs. Evans 2 at UFC 153! Big Nog vs. Herring 4! Let's do this!
