With this afternoon's announcements that both Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and UFC FW Champion Jose Aldo have had to pull out of UFC 153 with injuries, now there are conflicting reports as to the status of Aldo.
From Luke Thomas' Twitter:
"I'm fine, I just train...No, I'm training normal. For me there was nothing spoken. Even on one leg I would fight. " - Aldo saying he's fine

At this point it is unknown whether the injury has been overplayed, or whether Aldo was simply trying to keep up appearances not knowing the UFC had made the announcement. A similar situation occurred at UFC 151, when pictures of Dan Henderson training were posted shortly after word of his knee injury became public knowledge.
This offers a glimmer of hope that the fight is not completely lost, but it is doubtful the UFC would make the announcement without confirmation from the champ. Keep checking back on Bloody Elbow, as the staff will keep you up to date with this story as it unfolds.
UPDATE: Not promising news coming from ESPN's Josh Gross.
Please ignore quotes from Jose Aldo that he'll fight. He was told by Andre Pederneiras not to confirm anything if asked. He's confirmed out.

This sounds like the disappointing final nail in the coffin for the superfight many fans had wanted to see, at least for now.
