John Moraga defeated Ulysses Gomez by knockout at 3:46 of round one
John Moraga made an excellent debut in the opening bout of UFC on Fox 4, controlling the standup and eventually knocking out Ulysses Gomez late in the first round of their flyweight fight. After battering Gomez with kicks for a while, a huge flurry against the fence from Moraga left Gomez in a heap, unconscious.
Moraga got off to a good start with his standup, landing a variety of leg and body kicks. An early headbutt opened a cut above Gomez's eyebrow. Gomez looked to clinch up against the face but couldn't get a takedown. Moraga clinched up with Gomez against the fence and landed a nice standing elbow that stunned Useless. Another elbow, an uppercut and a two-punch combination sent Gomez slumping to the mat. The referee had no choice but to step in.
