UFC On Fox: Shogun Vs. Vera - Live Results And Play-By-Play For Fox Main Card

As with every major show, Bloody Elbow will be here to bring you live results, play by play and commentary for UFC on Fox 4: Shogun vs. Vera. Our live coverage will start with the fights on the Fuel TV prelim broadcast (5 p.m. ET) through the Fox main card (8 p.m. ET) so make sure to make Bloody Elbow your home for this event.

This post will cover live results and thoughts for the preliminary card on Fuel TV.

The four fight broadcast is headlined by a bout between Mauricio Rua and Brandon Vera. The co-main event sees Lyoto Machida take on Ryan Bader. The "most impressive winner" out of those two bouts will get a second shot at Jon Jones, according to Dana White. Lightweights Jamie Varner and Joe Lauzon meet on the card and Mike Swick returns to the UFC against DaMarques Johnson.

Mike Swick vs. DaMarques Johnson - Round 1 - Swick with a big right that misses. Now a bi right that stings Johnson and he pushes him into the cage. Swick backs out after he takes an elbow. Right hand by Swick. Johnson with a flurry that is mostly blocked and then a hard right hand that got Swick hurt a bit as his legs look e little unsteady. Johnson throws him to the ground out of the clinch and then lands a big elbow from the guard. Swick does get up after eating some more strikes. Swick up and he's landing some hard shots and Johnson fires back as well. Johnson gets it to the ground again but now is in full mount. Johnson tries to set up the d'arce choke and then he lets it go. 10-9 round for Johnson.

Round 2 - A lot of chasing and missing punches. Swick catches a kick, takes him down and follows up with a big shot and Johnson is down, a few big follow-ups on the ground after that and Johnson is out. Mike Swick wins by KO (punches), round 2.

Jamie Varner vs. Joe Lauzon - Round 1 - Varner misses with a 1-2 but lands to the body. Right hand by Varner now. He's using in and out movement well to keep Lauzon from getting of. Body shot by Varner. Varner with a body kick and now a big punch that hurts Lauzon. Body punch again. Lauzon with a nice flurry and a hard knee but Varner with a right hand after backpedaling a bit. Body kick by Varner. Right hand again by Varner. More big punches by Varner, most were blocked. Body shot by Lauzon. Right hand by Varner. Hard right by Lauzon and again and Varner drops him with a right! Varner on top in the guard and now he lands a few knees to the body as the round ends. 10-9 Varner.

Round 2 - Nice combination by Varner. Varner looking to mix in body shots and they're landing well. Another hard combo by Varner. Varner with a takedown attempt that Lauzon stuffs. Lauzon with a takedown and in the ensuing scramble, Lauzon take the back. Varner stands up and Lauzon is trying to lock up the choke but Varner scrapes him off on the cage. Varner with some hard body shots and Lauzon was hurt. Lauzon comes on hard with some power punches, Varner comes back hard himself. Now Lauzon has him down and is opening up. Again they're down with Lauzon on the back but he can't finish. He takes mount, now Varner turns and is on top landing elbows as the round ends. 10-9 Lauzon.

Round 3 - Varner forgot to put in his mouthpiece at the start of the round so they stop to fix that. Lauzon shoots and Varner stuffs it. Varner with a big takedownand Lauzon manages to get up. Varner with a good flurry of punches. Varner is gutting it out while tired. Varner with a takedown, Lauzon rolls him, Varner turns back to the top but he gets caught in a triangle, Lauzon tightens it up and manages to get the tap. Joe Lauzon wins by submission (triangle choke), round 3.

Lyoto Machida vs. Ryan Bader - Round 1 - Body kick by Machida. Bader misses a leg kick. Not much happens for the first 90 seconds. Body kick by Machida again. Machida with a knee and he's avoiding everything Bader is throwing. It's just Bader running forward throwing big wild punches that Machida slips with ease and then he lands a counter and gets away. Not super exciting, but perfect in execution. 10-9 Machida.

Round 2 - Finally, Bader tries another run at Machida and Lyoto just cracks him and puts him out cold, landing a follow up shot on the ground and it's over. Lyoto Machida wins by KO (punches), round 2.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Brandon Vera - Round 1 - Shogun with a quick early takedown and Vera gets up to an elbow but Shogun keeps him down. Shogun gets to side control now. Vera does manage to get up and he throws a headkick before Shogun clinches him. Shogun with a takedown attempt and Vera pulls guard with a guillotine choke and it was reasonably deep but Shogun got his head free and is now on top landing ground and pound. Rua to the back now. Rua with a few punches, getting a bit close to the back of the head. 10-9 Shogun.

Round 2 - Shogun tags him, now a big punch and Vera is hurt. Shogun is pouring it on, Vera with an elbow but he's getting lit up. Big elbow by Vera! Vera with some big punches now. He's gutting it out and not going away. Vera with some big shots again. Vera with a few big shots and now Rua with some big punches and Vera covers up, blocking a few knees. Shogun snaps him to the ground and lands some punches and Vera is bleeding as they stand back up. Vera throws a head kick, lands a right hand. Vera tags him again with a right hand. I'm calling a lot of Vera strikes but he's losing the round, I'm just impressed with his tenacity. Vera with a big takedown now! Rua looks gassed. Vera isn't doing anything from on top really. 10-9 Shogun still, but Vera is game.

Round 3 - Vera comes out hard with body kicks and knees before Shogun pushes him into the cage. Vera doesn't get taken down this time and just misses a knee on the exit. Shogun with some nice punches. Body punch and a hard leg kick by Vera. Shogun with a knee to the body and Vera goes to the ground. Shogun hits Vera who is still down before Vera pops back up. Vera with a good combination. Another great body, head, legkick combo by Vera. Vera is throing everything he has. Good flurry by Vera again and Shogun has to trip him for the takedown. Not much else happens and the round ends. 10-9 Rua.

Round 4 - Elbow lands for Vera early. Rua moving backward. Now Rua pushes him to the cage and lands some knees. Vera with a knee to the thigh. A lot of holding against the cage. Shogun with some good shots and finally Vera is down! Shogun keeps going and finally the fight is stopped. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua wins by TKO (punches), round 4.
