Dear Mr. White,

To put it bluntly, we here on the left side of your brain are concerned. We're more than aware that you are often known for your caustic remarks and that you don't necessarily accept criticism in the most diplomatic of manners; but that's fine, we understand. It's just that we believe that you may have dropped the ball on this whole 151 situation.

Did you see the rest of the main card? Siver v. Yagin? Hallman v. Tavares? Look, we know that Bones v. Hendo was the filet mignon of this card, but since when is filet served with fries? The point we're trying to make is that you simply cannot provide the public with one tempting offer and a whole lot of "meh".

We know that you are more than aware of the recent string of injuries that have plagued your product; such is the reason that things like this cannot be happening anymore. To quote the venerable Mark Twain, "The offspring of riches: Pride, vanity, ostentation, arrogance, tyranny." While the tyranny portion is not present, it seems that your meteoric rise to fame has blinded you to the very real problems facing your organization. We're thrilled with your recent accomplishments, but you need to stay grounded lest you want debacles like 151 to plague the UFC in the future.

This is a situation you had to have anticipated. We know, we're your logical side; you definitely considered it at some point. So when the seemingly inevitable happened and Dan Henderson was injured, you offered a title fight to a man who has never won at the light heavyweight level, in his entire UFC based career. You of all people know that fighters are a mercurial sort, lots of highs and lows...ups and downs, from their ilk. There had to have been an inkling in your head that your champion, who is somewhat known for his prideful ways, would respond poorly to your proposed matchup.

Yet here we are, with you claiming that the blame is on the fighter and his team and not on you, his boss and the face of the organization. Please forgive us if we're being harsh, but you need to realize that situations like this make you look weak and ineffectual. As the representative of a global organization, you need to have the business sense to always be planning for worst-case scenarios such as this. It's time to man up and claim responsibility for your folly and to fix it, rather than acting like a petulant child who has no say in the matter.

Rest assured though, there is a silver lining throughout this debacle. UFC 151 will serve as a learning experience for you, Dana. This media frenzy that you are currently trudging your way through? It will end, and people will move on. Now is the time to learn that fail-safes need to be implemented for top heavy PPV cards, that of course, is assuming you will continue to offer cards like these in the future.

Keep your chin up, Dana. It's like Johnny Cash once said, "These things shall pass and some great morning we'll look back and smile at the heartaches we have known."
