In the fallout of UFC 150 there are now more calls for Frankie Edgar to drop down to featherweight and make a run at Jose Aldo's title. We've heard from everyone on the subject except the champion. Jose Aldo made his feelings known in an interview with Tatame:
(Edgar) has already mentioned dropping to featherweight, so I am really hoping that he does it so that these rumors end. He is very welcome in the weight class, so that we can expel him back to LW, or to BW.
No surprise it doesn't seem like Jose Aldo is concerned with the potential threat that Frankie Edgar is. He did say that he thought that Frankie won his second fight against Benson Henderson:
As in every Edgar fight this was a tough one. I think that they could have given Edgar the victory, but who am I to judge? They have judges there for that.
I, along with most sane people, would love a Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar fight. Jose is probably the most under-appreciated fighter in the sport. He is the guy who deserves the "No Known Weaknesses" title that they tried to push on Cain. I doubt it would do massive PPVs, but it is probably the closest we will probably get to a "super fight" in the near future.
On a quick side note, is it just me or does Jose seem like the quietest of the champions? I hear almost nothing about what he says or thinks about anything even leading up to his fights. Dom is a pretty low key champion also, but he's also given lots of exposure.
