In tonight's second fight, Anthony Smith came out on top of a short back-and-forth fight. Sayers tried to establish dominance early by grabbing the clinch. However, Smith countered and ended up in mount after a quick scramble. Both men showed restraint before Sayers was able to escape. Finally, Smith lost his footing while dodging a Sayers punch, but locked in a tight triangle choke when Lumumba followed him to the ground.

Sayers ducks a punch early and grabs for the back clinch. Smith scrambles quickly and gets mount. Anthony Smith is showing a lot of patience here as he looks to take advantage of the dominant position. Sayers escapes the mount and gets the clinch again in a wild scramble. Smith makes Sayers stumble with heavy low kick. Smith slips and Sayers follows him to the ground. Smith locks on a quick triangle to finish the fight.

Both Sayers and Smith entered this fight on a two fight win streak. Although Smith has appeared on two previous Strikeforce:Challengers events, Sayers welcomed him to his first featured card bout.
