UFC is done until September 1st, but the speculation on what the UFC on FOX show in December is going to look like is already out there. So, realistically looking at who is available, considering that the UFC on FOX shows have a tighter budget then the normal PPV, and that it looks like BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald is going to be on this card, what three fights would you book to round out the main card?
My picks are -
1. Ben Henderson vs. Nate Diaz - Despite all his talent, I've seen little indication that Bendo is catching on with the casual fan. Also, when was the last time he was in a boring fight? Hype up a title fight on Free TV, then stand back and let these guys deliver.
2. Joe Lauzon vs Diego Sanchez - Why not give Lauzon a chance to build on the momentum from the last show, and see if he can build a cult following with the casual fans who might be tuning into free shows. This fight would be great.
3. Chris Cariaso vs. John Moraga - All the flyweight fights have been good to this point, and the winner of this fight could be fighting for the title early next year in a shallow and growing division. Also, both guys are pretty cheap... keeping the show on budget.
Also Considered: I have no real logic for not putting these fights above... just going with a gut feeling
Chris Weidman vs. Bisping/Stann winner
Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis
Max Holloway vs. Nam Phan
