Dennis Bermudez defeated Tom Hayden by submission (guillotine choke) at 4:43 of round one
Win or lose, Dennis Bermudez is usually pretty entertaining. He certainly lived up to his reputation in his UFC 150 featherweight bout with Tom Hayden. After eating a huge knee and surviving a couple of submission attempts, Bermudez submitted Hayden with a brutal standing guillotine late in the first. It was the second straight win in the UFC for the TUF runner-up.
Aftera minute of relative inactivity on the feet to start, Bermudez scooped Hayden up and deposited him on the mat. Hayden quickly got back up though. Hayden landed a right but had a takedown attempt stuffed. Bermudez briefly took his back but Hayden scrambled back to his feet. Hayden landed a big knee that dropped Bermudez, and Hayden jumped on him. Hayden trapped an arm and looked to sink a choke from his back. Bermudez reversed but ended up in an armbar, which he slammed his way out of.
After some GnP, Hayden got back up but ate a kick to the chest. Bermudez locked up a standing guillotine after a Hayden takedown attempt. He cranked on it, lifting Hayden off his feet, and got the tap.
