To quote Mr. Brookhouse, "The injury ending that got him the win was a bit unusual/flukey"
I agree, it was not a conventional way to win a fight and it's unfortunate that DHK got hurt but let's not act like it was on par with an eye poke or anything like that.
Maia fought well and Earned that victory. He wasted no time initiating the clinch with the Judo Master and went on to out-grapple and out-muscle him. We all know that's no easy task against the likes of DHK.
He used Leverage and Technique to get the fight ending takedown. It didn't just happen on accident.
Sure, I would rather have seen the fight continue without the injury. Especially with Maia hopping right into mount after the takedown I was really looking forward to seeing what he would do next. A submission victory would have been so much better but as it turns out it wasn't necessary.
Good job and good for you Demian.
*UPDATE*
With news coming in that the injury was in fact a muscle spasm that occurred before the takedown, my post no longer holds so much weight. It is now apparent that it really was a flukey end.
A rematch sounds good to me.
