On Tuesday, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones had his driver's license suspended for six months and was fined $1000 for his May 19th suspicion of DWI arrest in Binghamton, NY, following an accident that saw him crash his vehicle into a utility pole.
The 24-year-old will also have to install ignition interlocks on all of his vehicles and complete a victim impact panel within the next 90 days. Interlocks work similar to a breathalyzer where the driver must breathe into a device that measures blood alcohol levels (BAL). If the BAL is above a specified limit, the car cannot be started.
Jones, who pleaded guilty at his May 29 arraignment, did not address the court. He also paid nearly $7000 to the utility company to replace the pole, which he hit with his 2012 Bentley in the early morning hours of the 19th.
