Despite all the matches at the top of the division, the Middleweight title picture is as murky as ever. In an effort to clear that up, the UFC announced Vitor Belfort vs. Alan Belcher for UFC 153. This will be Belfort's third fight since losing his first title shot to Anderson Silva at UFC 126. UFC 153 will take place place at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and Belfort's second chance to fight in his country.
Tatame caught up with Vitor to get his thoughts on his new opponent and the title picture:
It's a huge pleasure to fight here again, specially now that the UFC is growing a lot in my country. I always dreamed with moments like this and I'm very happy to fight in front of my fans again
He's an excellent fighter, a tough guy, good in every aspect. He's coming of a great win over Toquinho (Rousimar Palhares). I'm sure this will be a great test for both. I'm focused on the title, but Belcher is my next fight and that's the only thing that worries me now.
Alan Belcher will be looking to thwart Belfort's second chance at the Middleweight belt. Belcher recently called out Anderson Silva after his first round TKO victory of Rousimar Palhares. With four consecutive wins behind him, he's definitely poised to be a contender with a win over Belfort. But Vitor has always proven to be a big handful for any fighter willing to trade leather with him.
