Hector Lombard looked miserable tonight in his UFC debut. At UFC 149, Lombard faced Tim Boetsch in a fight that saw Lombard enter as a heavy favorite. Hector was a former Bellator champion and was expected to be a title challenger for Anderson Silva in the very near future.
Instead, he showed up, stood around and got beat by Boetsch doing little more than throwing leg kicks. Sadly, this resulted in Lombard losing his fight and derailing the idea of him in a title shot.
Here are the highlights from the bout:
Not a good night for Lombard and Dana White made it clear that he feels that there are no real top challengers for the UFC middleweight champion and that everyone has a fight or two that they have to win first.
We'll have much more on the fallout of this very disappointing performance in the coming hours and days.
