Francisco Rivera defeated Roland Delorme by knockout (punch) at 4:19 of round one

The Bantamweight UFC 149 bout between Roland Delorme and Francisco Rivera was the classic grappler vs. striker matchup, and this time it was the striker that came out on top. Delorme was never able to get the fight to the ground and Rivera ate him up on the feet, eventually leveling him with a gorgeous counter left that ended Delorme's night late in the first round.

Rivera landed an early uppercut that wobbled Delorme a bit. He then followed it up with a couple of nice combinations. Delorme looked to land some leg kicks but ate a bunch of uppercuts for his trouble. Rivera continued to control the standup, while Delorme didn't look for the takedown. Delorme landed one nice right and a knee

Delorme finally charged forward with a right and Rivera landed a beautiful counter left that crumpled Delorme to the mat. One more punch and the referee jumped in to stop it.

Delorme entered the bout looking to extend his UFC win streak to three, while Rivera looking to move to 2-0 in his second run in the organization.
