Since the first appearance of the Hairrow at UFC 127, Brian Ebersole has established himself as the UFC's oddball. On top of that, he's proven to be a talented fighter, too. In his UFC debut, Ebersole upset Chris Lytle as a late replacement for Carlos Condit. He's racked up 4 more wins since then and currently holds a 5-0 UFC record. In another example of his peculiar personality, Ebersole appeared out of the crowd at today's press conference to implore UFC president Dana White to give away his complimentary tickets to the event. Apparently, Dana didn't oblige his request.
Ebersole took to Twitter last night to explain the situation:
@danawhite and @ufc told me to give away my 4 tickets on my own.So we have a poetry contest at 6:30pm at the Calgary Westin Hotel Lobby.

So, instead of granting the free tickets to a fortunate random fan, a local wordsmith will get the chance to pick up Ebersole's prize.
Despite his oddities, Brian Ebersole has established himself as a highly talented fighter. In his debut, he upset UFC mainstay Chris Lytle as a short notice injury replacement for now contender Carlos Condit. Only three weeks ago, he fended off the aggressive submission attack of T.J. Waldburger at UFC On FX 4. In his time with the UFC, Ebersole has gone from an unranked journeyman with 60+ fights to a top 20 welterweight. Tomorrow night he will enter the Octagon to face James head as the most favored fighter on the card.
