It's been a half a year since I started my first official month of training at Marcelo Garcia's Bjj academy in NYC. In the time I've been there, my skill level has grown exponentially. Before I joined, I felt like I confident in my skills but soon realized how little I really know. Every day I look forward to the hours I spend at the gym. I love training there and its the one place I can turn off all the crap in my life and just enjoy myself. Every bruise and ache and the exhaustion I feel from it gives me a sense of accomplishment knowing that every drop of sweat is paying off tenfold. I am competing at a Grappler's Quest on the 22nd and I feel very confident that I will do well. Thank you to all the teachers at the gym: Henrique Rezende, Paul Schriener and of course Marcelo Garcia. Thanks to John Satava, Munchy, and Mathaios (probably spelled wrong). Thanks to all the guys that give me advice and train with me and of course my fellow white belts. I am so glad I got the opportunity to train here and will do so as long as I can.
