A lot of people figured that UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos was going to be defending his title in a rematch against Cain Velasquez at UFC 152. Unfortunately that bout was postponed, so the September 22nd event in Toronto went in the other direction weight-wise - it'll host a flyweight title fight instead. Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson emerged victorious (eventually) from the flyweight tournament semi-finals and will meet for the belt in the main event. The co-main event sees top middleweight contenders Michael Bisping and Brian Stann face off, and Canada's own Rory MacDonald will look to take out a legend when he meets the returning B.J. Penn in another top bout.
Check out the work-in-progress card below.
Sept 22nd, live on PPV from Toronto, ON:
Joseph Benavidez (16-2) vs. Demetrious Johnson (15-2-1) [Flyweight title]
Michael Bisping (22-4) vs. Brian Stann (12-4)
Rory MacDonald (13-1) vs. B.J. Penn (16-8-2)
Marcus Brimage (5-1) vs. Jim Hettes (10-0)
