Showtime Sports President Steven Espinoza today denied the existence of a protected list of fighters on The MMA Hour. Espinoza explained that fighters cannot move promotions while under contract with Strikeforce. The deal prevents moves such as the move Nick Diaz made in 2011. Dan Henderson could move under this deal as his Strikeforce contract had run out before he returned to the UFC.
