Any rumors that had the UFC going to Hawaii seem to dead for now. A possible card with BJ Penn headlining, being a native, are done with. However, if BJ gets the win over Rory McDonald at UFC 152, I still think this would be an excellent place to host an event. A guaranteed sell out if headlined by the hometown hero, BJ Penn.
Here's what Dana White had to say at the Munoz vs Weidman post-fight conference:
"I'd love to go to Hawaii. I'd love to go there and do an event," White said. "It kind of scares me to be outside. It rains every 15 minutes out there. It's not in our plans right now."
