Well, this is rather a question than an article but i do share my thoughts quickly, before getting ready for work. I have just found an amazing highlight of Anderson Silva and could watch his beautifully illegal total KO of Yushin Okami several times.. that KO seems not only to made Yushin unconscious but also the whole Japanese MMA world.
Japanese fighters are unable to adapt to the requirements of sports nowadays. Its not that , that move of Silva was such unorthodox that it may have surprised any, but still, to me it serves as an example of Japanese fighters being unprepared to the moves of others, when it comes to fighting any non Japanese fighters. Why is that? Are Japanese so used to following the rules of sport that they are completely unprepared to anything else coming by? Didnt they learn the lessons of their losses? Right now, there is noone promising fighting for any non Asian promotions.
Meanwhile Korean fighters seem to be more than well prepared and at times even beyond their opponents in their moves and preparations for fights. OK Dong Hyun Kim is not that good an example now, but the Korean Zombie ( and Ben Henderson???) definitely is..
So, tell me your thoughts, why cant Japanese fighters adapt? Wishing everyone a great summer.
