Due to injury, Jose Aldo has withdrawn from his scheduled title defense against Erik Koch at UFC 149.
With forty-two days until the event, the UFC has decided to pull the interim title bout between Urijah Faber and Renan Barao from the July 7th, 2012 UFC 148 card and slide the fighters over to UFC 149. This does not affect the title defense of Anderson Silva against Chael Sonnen.
The official UFC Twitter account confirms:
More changes - Aldo injured, Aldo-Koch postponed, Faber-Barao interim title fight now the main event of UFC 149 in Calgary

Unfortunately, the Injury Specter has struck multiple times this year with multiple cards and the UFC's schedule rearrangement resembles a Jenga game at this point.
Injuries are likely an inescapable portion of the mixed martial arts game, yet the constant rescheduling of bouts and rearrangements of cards has to be a worrying issue for the UFC going forwards. Perhaps something will change in the near future.
