UFC president Dana White spoke to Fuel TV's Ariel Helwani after UFC on FX 3 last night and revealed that former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua absolutely refused to face Glover Teixeira at UFC on Fox 4. Rua went so far as to tell White and UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta that he would rather be cut than face Teixeira.

Rua will instead face Brandon Vera in the headlining bout of UFC on Fox 4.

Vera was actually cut by the UFC following a decision loss to Thiago Silva at UFC 125 in January, 2011. When Silva failed a post-fight drug test Vera got a chance to return to the organization and somehow managed to get a decision win over Eliot Marshall in a fight that saw Marshall very nearly snap Vera's arm with an arm bar.

In the video White also discusses his meeting with Brock Lesnar after UFC 146 which he characterizes as "the worst meeting we've ever had with Brock Lesnar."
