Kenny Florian's retirement wasn't really a shocker since he had hinted that his ailing back had pretty much finished his career. While Florian may be one of the classic bridesmaids for his championship losses, he is held in high regard for having fought in four different weight classes, concealing razors in his elbows, and more rear naked chokes than Rocco Siffredi. I can't really add much more to what's already been said about his great career in MMA, but I do look forward to his future play-by-play commentary and as an analyst for FOX and the UFC.

Bibiano Fernandes finally finds a check he can cash in signing with the UFC. As one of the most high profile and highly ranked fighters outside of the UFC, I'm anxious to see what Bibi can do inside the Octagon. As Bruce Buffer would say, "It's about time!"

The mass of releases from the UFC coincided with the demise of DREAM leading many to believe that a Japanese exodus was about to happen. So far only Fernandes has been signed but I believe the releases were due more in part to the recent TUF signings rather than DREAM closing their doors. We can all hope though.
