Matt Grice used a strong wrestling game to completely nullify Leonard Garcia and took an easy decision. The first and second rounds were spent almost exclusively on the ground, with Grice coming close to a finish with a north-south choke in the first. Garcia was able to keep it on the feet for most of the third and even managed to get up from a Grice takedown at one point, but he never landed any serious offense and lost every round on all three cards.
Seth Baczynski took a close split decision over Lance Benoist in a bit of a weird fight. Benoist landed two illegal knees in the bout but didn't have a point taken away. He spent a lot of time on top of Baczynski, but wasn't overly effective in the position and Baczynski ended every round in the top position which may have swayed the judges. The final scores saw Benoist take one card with a 30-27 score, and Baczynski got two card with identical 29-28 cards.
In the feature fight of the Fuel broadcast, Mike Pierce grinded out a split decision victory over Carlos Eduardo Rocha. Rocha never got anything going and was continually smothered by the gritty Pierce. Pierce took a while to get a takedown in each round but once he did, he remained on top for the rest of each round. It certainly wasn't pretty, but it was effective. The scores were announced as a split decision with Rocha getting a highly improbable 30-27 card, but it was likely a mistake.
