Tim Means defeated Justin Salas by TKO at 1:06 of the first round
Dustin Page defeated Jared Papazian by submission (rear naked choke) at 3:51 of the first round
Tim Means and Dustin Pague didn't take long to finish their bouts on the Fuel portion of UFC on FX 3 today. Means caught Justin Salas with a solid left that had him staggered very early on, and spent the rest of the fight knocking Salas all over the cage. Salas showed a ton of heart by continuing to get up and look for a takedown, but Means was just too much for him. He finally went down for good and the referee was forced to jump in at the 1:06 mark.
Pague used a fancy trip to fall right into the mount position on opponent Jared Papazian, and it was the beginning of the end. Pague took his time, eventually got Papazian to roll over, and sunk in a choke to pick up his first UFC win in impressive fashion. The finish came at 3:51 of the opening stanza.
Means and Salas came into the bout looking to build on wins in each of their UFC debuts, and had talked some trash in the leadup to the fight. Papazian and Pague both lost their debuts (to Mike Easton and John Albert respectively) and were looking to turn things around in their second fight in the organization.
