It wasn't pretty but Greg Jackson/Mike Winkeljohn product Buddy Roberts won his UFC debut over Caio Magalhaes at UFC on FX 3. Roberts used the patented Jackson stick-move-stick-circle away strategy to defeat Magalhaes in a Middleweight bout.
UFC on FX 3 Results: Buddy Roberts def. Caio Magalhaes by unanimous decision (30-27 x2, 29-28).
Roberts landed several hard right hands and fended off most of Magalhaes' take downs. When Caio did get it to the ground, Roberts was quick to pop back up. The fight wasn't exactly super entertaining, continuing the trend of the early UFC on FX 3 bouts that all went to decision.
Roberts was finally making his UFC debut after having his first fight against Sean Loeffler at UFC on Fuel 1 canceled at the last minute due to a Loeffler injury. Magalhaes was making his debut after going 5-0 in Brazil.
