Another day, another big fighter injured and out of a UFC fight. Yesterday saw Brian Stann pull out of the upcoming UFC on Fox main event, forcing the promotion to put Mauricio Rua (good) into the main event against Brandon Vera (bad).

Now, Michael Bisping has pulled out of his UFC 149 bout with Tim Boetsch due to an injury. The initial report at MMA Junkie did not specify the type of injury to Bisping. Hector Lombard, Stann's original Fox opponent, now steps into the UFC 149 slot against Boetsch.

Periods like this happen in sports, where it seems like big injuries are happening daily. That doesn't make it any more fun. Luckily, Lombard vs. Boetsch is a very good fight and still an appropriate introduction for Lombard into the UFC. Once we have a better idea of Bisping's injury we can start to speculate on what is next for the former Ultimate Fighter winner.
