Welterweight Kenny Robertson gets his chance to return to the UFC against Aaron Simpson atUFC on Fuel TV 4. Robertson will be replacing Jon Fitch who injured his knee and will have to sit out the event. Robertson's previous UFC bout came in a TKO loss to Mike Pierce at UFC 126. That is the only loss of Robertson's career. He has picked up a win in regional competition to improve his overall record to 11-1.
Simpson, a 36-year-old former collegiate wrestling standout, is making his 170lb debut at the event. He last fought in a loss to Ronny Markes at UFC on Fuel TV in February of this year.
Fitch last fought at UFC 141 in December when he was the victim of a 12 second KO loss to Johny Hendricks. Coming on the heels of Fitch's tie against B.J. Penn at UFC 127 in February, 2011, Fitch hasn't had a win in the Octagon since 2010 when he beat Thiago Alves at UFC 117. The long-time #2 in the division, Fitch has dropped to #6 in the MMA Nation Consensus Rankings.
