Betting lines for some big UFC fights this summer opened up last night, and all three would have to be considered a bit of a surprise. Who is favored isn't surprising - it's just how big of a favorite they are (or aren't). The first line is for the co-main event of UFC 149 between former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard and Tim Boetsch. Check it:
Sure, Lombard probably deserves to be the favorite. But Tim Boetsch at +240 against an undersized middleweight making his UFC debut? I'm betting on Boetsch at that price, that's for sure.
Next up, you have the UFC on Fox 4 main event between Mauricio Rua and Brandon Vera:
Seriously? Lombard is a bigger favorite than Shogun? I don't normally recommend betting on anyone at -290, but unless Shogun is hurt or something, that's a gift line and should be waaay wider.
You can check out the final line after the jump.
Finally, we have the line for the UFC on Fuel 5 main event between Stefan Struve and Stipe Miocic"
Miocic is a healthy favorite which could be viewed as even. But Struve has way more experience, especially over heavy hitters, and Stipe hasn't faced a guy with solid grappling skills yet in the UFC. I'd take the top two in terms of what has better value, but Struve at +205 isn't bad either.
