UFC 148 will see the long awaited rematch between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen for the UFC middleweight championship. Silva won their first fight with a last minute submission after Sonnen had dominated the majority of the bout to that point.
The UFC has released a preview of the primetime hype show which will air on FUEL TV:
The real question is...why FUEL TV?
Obviously, the show is going to sell in pretty good numbers. It's a big fight between big personalities that people are excited to see. But putting a show that hypes up a pay-per-view event on a network no one watches seems a lot like wasted effort. I can only assume they'll be putting Primetime on the internet almost immediately so that people get the chance to see the show.
One has to think that even a midnight or 1am showing on FX would draw more viewers than FUEL at any time of day. It just seems like a curious move is all.
