Former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight champion and former Chael Sonnen TeamQuest teammate Randy Couture sits down with MMA Fighting's Luke Thomas to breakdown Sonnen's upcoming rematch against UFC Middleweight champ Anderson Silva at UFC 148. The fight takes place on July 7 in Las Vegas and is a do-over of Silva vs. Sonnen 1 at UFC 117 in August, 2010.
Couture knows Sonnen's fighting style and heart the way only a former teammate -- who's also one of the all-time great gameplanners in MMA history -- could.
Some of Couture's quotes are after the jump...
"It's kind of odd," Couture told MMA Fighting. "Normally I would say that the onus is on the guy who won the first fight to anticipate the changes the loser is going to make and get the same outcome. "If you look at Anderson and Chael, Anderson won by triangle choke with two minutes left. He didn't really win the fight. He got his ass whooped - literally - for four-plus rounds," Couture continued, "but it's almost like he was the guy that won. He wants it to go the same minus the triangle."
