Vinny Magalhães: By the Numbers
if you enjoyed it, check out
Vinicius de Magalhães BJJ savant, and MMA fighter on the rise has been fighting his way back to the UFC, having to deal with a very abrasive M1-Global and the complications of contract disputes.
Between Gi and No-Gi Magalhães has won 6 gold medals at international tournaments, 3 silvers, and 5 bronzes. Competing between 88kg and the absolute weight classes.
As well as that he has amassed a Mixed martial arts record of 9 wins 5 losses, and 1 no contest, being only finished 2 times one by Raphael Davis 4 years ago via verbal Submission, and most recently by Ryan Bader via TKO also 4 years ago.
Magalhães's only other notable loss comes via his 2nd fight in the UFC against veteran Eliot Marshall losing by Unanimous Decision. Though this does not tell the whole story of Vinny Magalhães.
Between October 24th, 2009 and present day. Magalhães has garnered a record of 7 wins, and one loss(by decision). Magalhães has finished all of his opponents in spectacular fashion, whether it be standing or dominantly on the ground.
Here are a few of his finishes I'd rather let you see than talk about.

&

Magalhães has never seen the judges score cards when victorious, finishing all 9 of his wins.
Shinya Aoki is the only other person to finish a fight via the mounted gogoplata, doing so at Dream 4.
Magalhães is the only person other than Matt Horwich to submit Krzysztof Soszynski (TUF 8 quarter finals).
He is the only man who has attempted to sell his M1-Global Championship belt.
His opponents have a combined record of 124 wins and 51 losses.
As Vinny Magalhaes makes his way back to the UFC it has been a long a dramatic journey many remember him as just that guy Ryan Bader beat, but hopefully they will know now he is a force to be reckoned with, and his skills are not debatable. A good guy, a good fighter, and hopefully a new addition to the UFC light heavy weight roster.
