The event is headlined by a lightweight contenders bout between Gray "The Bully" Maynard and Clay "The Carpenter" Guida and can be seen on live on FX Networks in the United States and Rogers Sportsnet in Canada.
1 – Gray Maynard vs. Clay Guida is the first five-round fight in UFC history where both fighters are coming off a loss.
2 – Main event and co-main event fighters Gray Maynard, Clay Guida, Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher have a combined 55 UFC fights with 15 "of the Night" bonuses.
3 – Dustin Pague, who fights Ken Stone on the Facebook/Youtube portion of the preliminary card, will fight just 14-days after his submission victory over Jared Papazian at "UFC on FX 3: Johnson vs. McCall".
4 – Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher will fight for the third time. Stout won the first fight via split decision at "UFC 58: USA vs. Canada" on March 4, 2006, while Fisher won the rematch via unanimous decision at "UFC Fight Night 10″ on June 12, 2007.
5 – UFC on FX 4 will mark the first time the organization has held an event in Atlantic City since "UFC 53: Heavy Hitters", which took place on June 4, 2005.
6 – Dan Miller makes his welterweight debut when he meets Ricardo Funch on the preliminary portion of the UFC on FX 4 fight card.
7 – Following a complaint from Gray Maynard’s camp, Clay Guida will have to braid his hair for their scheduled bout at UFC on FX 4.
8 – Of the 24 fighters competing on the card, Brian Ebersole has the most fights (65), wins (49) and losses (14). Ebersole also leads the card in (T)KO (14), submission (20) and decision victories (15).
