It's no surprise that UFC welterweight, Dan Hardy, has ended up on the card for UFC on Fuel TV 5 in his hometown of Nottingham, England this September, but now he has an opponent, according to MMAFighting.com, and it will be TUF Season 7 winner, Amir Sadollah:
According to sources close to the situation, "The Outlaw" will meet Amir Sadollah at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in Nottingham, England, on Sept. 29. The organization is expected to officially announce the fight in the coming days.
Hardy must have breathed a sigh of relief after coming away with what was widely viewed as a UFC career-saving win at UFC 146 when he shockingly knocked out Duane Ludwig, who many believed to have the superior striking, with his trademark left hook. Although Sadollah will likely engage Hardy on the feet, it might not be wise for "The Outlaw" to purse takedowns,as, despite his recent focus on his wrestling and jiu jitsu, Sadollah has proven more than capable of submitting opponents off his back.
Despite winning his season of The Ultimate Fighter and having a mostly successful post-TUF career in the UFC, Sadollah has found difficulty breaking through into stardom. This is probably due to the limited improvements in technique that he's shown, which sometimes results in less-than-exciting fights, as well as the UFC's seeming refusal to progress him up the ladder against more talented opponents, even after wins instead repeatedly signing him to face newcomers and fighters who have yet to prove themselves in the Octagon. Sadollah may have faced better competition than Hardy in previous fights, but he'll still have his hands full.
