British lightweight Paul Sass will look to stay undefeated when he returns to his home country in September, where he'll face off with veteran Matt Wiman at UFC on Fuel 5 in Nottingham. The bout is expected to take place on the main card. Dana White had the following to say about the new bout:
"After looking so impressive in his last fight at UFC 146, unbeaten Liverpool lightweight Paul Sass steps up to fight talented veteran Matt Wiman, who has won four of his last five fights."
Sass (13-0) is coming off the biggest win of his career at UFC 146 where he submitted Jacob Volkmann in the first round. Twelve of his thirteen wins have come by submission, nine of those by a version of triangle choke. Wiman (14-6) hasn't competed since October, where he defeated Mac Danzig by decision. He's 8-4 overall in the UFC and has picked up four fight of the night bonuses.
The main event of the September 29th show is a heavyweight battle between Stefan Struve and Stipe Miocic.
