Many of you may have come to know me over the years, some of you newer members may not, I haven't been as active this year.
So here's the scoop: I'm basically doing a quick tally of who trains where to try to take advantage of our little community and find even more training partners. I have a lack of skilled guys who fight above 170 in my gym and my new work schedule prevents me from training with my old partners. I know many of us on here are from the DMV area.
A quick bit about me: I started at Capital BJJ (Capital MMA now) maybe 4 years ago. I moved to Warrior Gym (formerly One Spirit Martial Arts Alexandria) shortly there after to start training in Judo with Olympian Maurice Alan. I did some cross training at Gold Medal grappling (Pre Kris Mccray on TUF) and took up Muay Thai under Master Danny (about 2 years back). I specialize in clinch fighting (surprise, surprise, Judo and Muay Thai). I am a competent grappler, and a... lets say "decent" striker :-)
I Normally walk around at about 220 and fight at 205 (185 is my ideal fight weight)... but after breaking my leg a few months back I am now sitting pretty at 240. Working back down to 220 daily.
So down to business, I'm trying to get ring ready again and I need more bodies. if you are a little less experienced in some area's, but you're willing to come in and work hard, I am willing to teach and give you everything you give me. If you are more experienced and just want to get more mat time in, lets do it.
My work schedule now ties me up from 2-10 PM... so I am looking for people to train with in the AM. I'm at Warrior Gym once again, so let me know if you are interested so I can let the powers that be know what I'm up to with the strange people coming through the doors.
Lets see how this turns out, Jerry
